Shri Narasimha Saraswati, born in 1378, embarked on a spiritual journey that transformed countless lives. As a child named Narhari, he displayed extraordinary qualities that hinted at his divine origin.
From birth, Narhari only uttered the sacred word "Om," leaving his parents concerned about his speech. At his sacred thread ceremony (upanayana), he began reciting the Vedas fluently.
At the age of seven, Narhari embarked on a pilgrimage to Kashi, where he embraced Sanyasa and received the name Shri Narasimha Saraswati from his guru, Shri Krishna Saraswati.
A Saint’s Visit to His Homeland. After years of spiritual travels, Shri Narasimha Saraswati returned to Karanja at the age of 30 to meet his parents, offering them solace.
Karanja is not just the birthplace of Shri Narasimha Saraswati but also a center for spiritual learning and devotion. The Guru Mandir, commemorating his birth, remains a revered site for followers.

Amba Bhavani, Shri Narasimha Saraswati's mother, was blessed by Sripada Srivallabha in her previous birth to give birth to him in her next life, ensuring the continuity of Lord Dattatreya’s divine mission.
Shri Narasimha Saraswati’s final years were marked by his meeting with a Muslim king of Bidar, after which he decided to take Nijanandagamana samadhi in the Kardali forest near Srisailam. His samadhi is believed to last 300 years, symbolizing his eternal presence and guidance.
